Archery is a sport of ancient origin. Different, in national and international competitions, is the evidence that distinguish this discipline.
The arch – as an instrument of aggression (weapon) but also as a hunting tool, leisure and sport – it is one of the earliest evolved primitive devices and certainly one of the most original inventions of mankind, who developed it in the various areas of the planet, in different and independent time.
It is believed that the first representation of an arc can indicate in a graffiti of about thirty thousand years ago. Certainly since the Palaeolithic humanity was using this tool as a hunting system to groped to hit their prey from a safe distance.
The archery appeared for the first time in the Olympic Games of 1900 in Paris. Excluded after 1920 was readmitted starting from the Monaco Olympics in Munich in 1972; since then it is one of the Olympic specialties.
