The Republic of San Marino
The Serene Republic of San Marino, often abbreviated in the Republic of San Marino or simply in San Marino, is a state of southern Europe. San Marino boasts an exceptional tradition of hospitality at all times. In this land of freedom, the right of asylum and the help of persecuted persons, of any condition, origin or idea, were never denied.
The territory of San Marino is shaped like an irregular quadrilateral, mostly hilly with the center of Monte Titano and extending for 61,196 km². It is the third smallest country in Europe, behind only the Principality of Monaco and the Vatican City. It is surrounded by the extension of its borders from two Italian regions and precisely from Emilia Romagna.
